Lead-Requirements for Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Print E-mail

The Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Program mandates that contractors, property managers and others working for compensation, in homes and child-occupied facilities built before 1978, must be trained and use lead-safe work practices. They are also required to provide the lead pamphlet "Renovate Right; Important Lead Hazard Information for Families, Child Care Providers and Schools" to owners and occupants before starting renovation work.

Lead-Based Paint RenovationAfter January 1, 2010, North Carolina requires you and your firm to be certified and to use lead-safe work practices. "Faces of Survival" course offered at discounted rate Print E-mail

The North Carolina Builder Institute will offer the course "Faces of Survival: Perspectives on Surviving the Current Building Industry Crisis" for a discounted rate of $50 on February 18 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Greensboro, following the 1st Quarter Board Meeting.

The course is designed to give practical information and tidbits on facing the current economic crunch in the building industry today. Participants will learn about methods for cash flow; methods and criteria for negotiating with lenders and/or creditors; protecting your cash and assets; and preparing for the emerging housing market. Attention will be given to looking at various workout alternatives including short sells, foreclosures, and even bankruptcy as a last resort. The bottom line for this course is to aid participants in how to survive and face the current challenges in today’s economy.

Attendees will receive 4 hours of NCBI credit. "Faces of Survival" counts towards the Accredited Builder, Accredited Associate and Accredited Residential Superintendant designations. Pre-register by February 13.
