The 2009 session of the N.C. General Assembly is finally wrapping up! The House and Senate adopted a $19 billion budget on Wednesday after weeks of negotiation. The Senate approved the budget 27-18, and the House approved the bill 66 to 51. Governor Perdue is expected to sign the budget bill today.
It's a flurry of activity down at the Legislature with a few last minute votes. The Senate plans to finish up today (Aug. 7) and the House will adjourn the first of next week.
