If you had 15 minutes in front of the NCHBA membership, what would you say about membership recruitment/retention?  First, I would thank all members for continuing to renew their membership.  They have learned the value our HBA’s bring to them.  I would say that to keep our Association strong and growing takes hard work and dedication.  We have to ask people to join and give them strong reasons to participate.  Tell them about our advocacy work, our education, our fund raising for charity – just to mention a few.

I would tell others that I get far more back from our Association than I could put in.  The return is more because of the work of so many.  The reason we have a high retention rate is what the Association provides to its members.  For the few that don’t rejoin it’s our duty to find out what the problem was and try to fix it or further educate them to bring them back.
