Larry Airey, was named the North Carolina Associate of the Year nominee to NAHB for 2005. He is a member of the HBA of Charlotte & Lake Norman HBA. Larry retired from Duke Energy in 2005 and is now with Ryan Homes of Charlotte.
Airey has served as Chair to the HBA of Charlotte Associates Committee in 2002 & 2005, Membership Committee in 2001, and Golf Committee from 2000 – 2005. He also served as Associate Vice President in 2004, Secretary in 1999, 2000 & 2003, Charlotte HBA Program Chair in 1998, Home Builders Care Committee 2001-2005, Land Development Council 2002-2006 and as a member of the Board of Directors from 1996-2006. He was named the HBA of Charlotte Associate of the Year in 1999.
On the state level, he served as NCHBA Secretary Treasurer in 2005 and Chair of the Membership Committee in 2004. He is a member of the SPIKE Club and has earned 232 SPIKE credits to date, including 11 credits earned in 2005. Airey also organized the Associate/Builder White Water Rafting Trip in 2004 & 2005 and catered the NC Builders Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament in 2005.
On the national level, Airey chaired “School Yard Outdoor Classroom” Project in Charlotte, which received national recognition from NAHB at the International Builders’ Show in 2002.
Airey holds the professional certifications of a licensed Home Inspector (2001-2005), Real Estate Sales professional (2000-2005) and General Contractor (2001-2005).
Airey was honored nationally at the Associates Awards Presentation, held during the annual Builders’ Show in Orlando, Florida on Thursday, January 12, 2006.
