Tim Grein of PHD Builders is the 2005 Builder of the Year.  Tim is a native of High Point and a graduate of Wake Forest University.  Growing up, Tim was very active in the Boy Scouts of America where we earned Eagle Scout and God and Country.  He also held various leadership positions with the Boy Scouts. He has won various Gold award with the Parade of Homes and this year took Best of Show. Tim chaired the Playhouse Committee and in 2006 will be our Vice President He loves music and fishing and in his spare time plays golf, tennis and enjoys fishing. Congratulations ,Tim for being our 2005 Builder of the Year.

Nancy Williams, 2004 Associate of the Yeat, presents the 2005 award to Chris Williams.

Chris Williams of Terminix Company is the 2005 Associate of the Year.  Chris came to the Association five years ago and has been very involved ever since.  He sits on the  Associates Council and Membership Committee and is the Chair person for the Golf Committee where his committee oversees two very successful outings.  You find Chris everywhere.  He helps with fundraising at TREBIC, attends Pig, Poultry, and Politics and represents us at the State meeting as our State Director. This is the second time Chris has been chosen for this award and is well deserved.  Congratulations Chris on being our 2005 Associate of the Year.

Rick Lyles, 2004 recipient of the Mike Gunter Award (left) presents the 2005 honor to Ozzie Hough.

Mike Gunter was a member of the High Point BA in the late 80’s early 90’s.  In his short time with us he did so very much to impact this Association.  Within a year and half he was instrumental in increasing our membership to over two hundred members.  He helped us to believe in our Association. He was always  cooking.  At golf outings, community projects and even at the Habitat House project, he stayed up for twenty-four hours to make sure the workers had food to eat.So we honor him with the Mike Gunter Award.  This is the third year for this award.  Don Carpenter and Rick Lyles have been inducted and this year the award goes to Ozzie Hough of SunTrust Bank! Ozzie sits on our  Associates Council and Membership Committee.  He has sat on the Board and is always faithful to these committees. He helps with Builder’s Fair, especially setting up for the event; you can always count on his help.  Congratulations Ozzie… we are going to miss you. Ozzie retired in December.

Joe Miller presents Shawn Willimas with the first Debbie Miller Award. Williams is always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it's cooking lunch at the association golf outing or running last-minute errands for her husband, Chris

Debbie Miller was the wife of Joe Miller, Past President of this Association.  Debbie lost her life to cancer earlier this year.  She was always very supportive of this Association and you would find her beside Joe at the monthly meeting as well as the NAHB meetings. So to honor her the Association decided to give an award in her name.  This award will go the spouse of our members.  It will be for those spouses who go the extra mile and help out the Association. At the December General Membership Meeting, Shawn Williams, wife of Chris Williams, was the first spouse to receive this award.  You always find Shawn helping out.  She does most of the cooking for Chris’ famous lunch at the Golf outing and is always available to do some last minute running for Chris. She works hard to help make this Association and her husband a success.  Shawn, Congratulation and THANK YOU!
