NCHBA Sets New Membership Record Print E-mail

The North Carolina Home Builders Association is pleased to announce that it set a new membership record with well over16,000 memberships. Membership figures for March showed NCHBA with 16,199 memberships, which is an increase in 799 memberships since December 31, 2005.

The increase in membership is primarily due to an effort led by Tim Minton, Executive Officer of the Raleigh/Wake County HBA, who has recruited 396 members since January 1, 2006, a record increase of 24.3%. Raleigh/Wake County HBA is likewise celebrating an achievement of passing the 2,000 member mark. As of March 31, 2006 Raleigh/Wake County HBA had a membership of 2,024.

“Recruiting and retaining membership is my top priority, because membership is the life blood of this association” states Dave Stormont, NCHBA President from Kitty Hawk, NC. “I am grateful to the Raleigh/Wake County HBA for taking the initiative to make membership its top priority also.  Other local HBAs can learn from the model that Tim has created and I hope they will contact him quickly to learn how they can enjoy this benefit. We are excited to see these new membership numbers.”

National Membership Day

Reminder that Tuesday, May 23rd is National Membership Day! Take advantage of this national event to grow your HBA community and strengthen your team. This is the most visible event of the year for membership growth. It is a nationwide campaign that is executed at the local level and celebrated and supported at the state and national levels.

Your local Executive Officer or Executive Secretary will call in your May member projections to 800-899-6242 between 12 noon and 5pm Eastern Standard Time on May 23rd.  Your numbers will also be displayed in real time on the National Membership Day Webcast.

The Commit to Call: This is a form that your local Executive Officer or Executive Secretary must sign and fax back so NAHB is aware of your intention to participate. You must do this in order to make the members who participate in the campaign eligible to receive the recruiter prizes from NAHB. This form is due by May 5, 2006.
