In N.C., local home builders associations and their members partnered with local Habitat for Humanity affiliates in an effort to build a staggering 30 homes throughout the state. Despite record-breaking high temperatures, builders devoted themselves to the Blitz's cause and successfully completed their mission.
At the week’s end, home builders in Durham, Orange and Chatham counties built 10 homes; builders in Raleigh, Charlotte and Winston-Salem built five homes each; builders in Wilmington constructed three homes; while builders in Gastonia and Greenville each built one home. Considering that it typically takes an average of eight months to construct a home from beginning to end, what occurred in N.C. over the course of the Blitz weeks was an undeniable success.
