NCHBA Installs 2026 Leadership and Honors Excellence
The NC Home Builders Association held its 4th Quarter Meeting, Installation Dinner and Hall of Fame Awards on Thursday, December 11 at the Hotel Ballast in Wilmington, NC.
Dicky Gephart of Raleigh Sworn In as 2026 NCHBA President

Dicky Gephart, a Raleigh-based builder and member of the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County, was sworn in as the 2026 President of the NC Home Builders Association.
Gephart is pictured receiving his President’s Pin from his wife, Cathy.
He is the owner/operator of Gephart Building Company, which builds custom homes in the Triangle area as well as Southport, NC.
Leaders Thanked for Their Service

2025 NCHBA President Thomas McClain was thanked for an outstanding year of growth and accomplishments for the association.
Charlene Allen was recognized for her leadership in her role as Secretary/Treasurer. Allen’s term expires at the end of 2025, when she will be succeeded by Jim Derrickson.
Meanwhile, a number of Regional Vice Presidents concluded their terms and were highlighted for their service during the Board of Directors Meeting.

Judy Dinelle’s Career-Long Service Honored with Ambassador Award

Judy Dinelle was honored with the Jerry Cowan NCHBA Ambassador Award, a prestigious and rare recognition given to a member who epitomizes a servant’s heart and selflessness.

Joan Swift Named Ralph Doggett Regional Vice President of the Year

Joan Swift, NCHBA Regional Vice President for Region IV, was named the Ralph Doggett RVP of the Year.
Avery Pipkin Recognized as 2025 NCHBA Construction Trades Teacher of the Year

Avery Pipkin of Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough, NC was recognized as the 2025 NCHBA Construction Trades Teacher of the Year. Pipkin, in just his fourth year as a teacher, has made a substantial impact on his students. He teaches woodworking, cabinetmaking and advanced manufacturing.
Mark Martin and Phil Warrick Inducted into the NC Housing Hall of Fame

Mark Martin, owner of Sandmark Custom Homes in Kitty Hawk, and Phil Warrick, owner of Piedmont Wholesale in Greensboro, were inducted into the North Carolina Housing Hall of Fame.
With more than three decades of leadership and service each, Mark and Phil have made significant contributions to their local associations, to NCHBA, and to the home building industry nationally. Their induction recognizes their longstanding commitment to advancing the profession and supporting the builders and communities they serve.
Installation of 2026 Officers

The 2026 Officers of the NC Home Builders Association were officially installed by 2022 NCHBA President Wes Carroll.
