NCHBA Welcomes Representative Jason Saine to 1st Quarter Meeting

The North Carolina Home Builders Association welcomed Representative Jason Saine (R-Lincoln) to its 1st Quarter Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

Representative Jason Saine (pictured middle, holding check) joins NCHBA leadership, including (L-R) Executive Vice President Tim Minton, Immediate Past President Michael Enscore, 2022 President Wes Carroll, President-Elect Brandon Bryant, Secretary-Treasurer Charlene Allen, and First Vice President Cody Byrd, to present a check for $5 million in recognition of the funding to start the Be Pro Be Proud program.

Representative Saine was key in securing $5 million in state funding to bring the Be Pro Be Proud program to North Carolina.

The goal of the Be Pro Be Proud program is to stimulate student, parent and educator interest in technical professions within the construction, manufacturing, transportation and utility industries. The program utilizes a custom-built mobile workshop trailer offering hands-on experience with skilled professionals to middle and high school students statewide.

The NC Home Builders Educational and Charitable Foundation recently signed a contract with the NC Department of Labor to officially mark the establishment of the Be Pro Be Proud pilot program. The program will be administered by the Foundation with oversight from NCDOL.
